2026 Season Update — 92 at R1, 83 at R2 · 175 Combined · 80% Retention

TKL's 2026 season opened with 92 entries at KartMoto (14 classes) — a new all-time high — then drew 83 entries across 12 classes at Gulf Coast Karters in Katy over a full race weekend. That gives TKL 175 combined entries through two rounds, the strongest two-round start in series history. Even more telling: 67 of R1's 84 drivers came back for R2 — an 80% race-to-race retention rate, the highest in TKL history. Junior MAX led the grid with 12 entries, and Slipstream fielded a series-high 11.

Data Sources & Notes
  • TKL Championship – Alpha Timing race data, 3 rounds in 2025, 93 unique drivers, mixed engine platform
  • Series A – 2025 overall season data (~265 unique racers, 5 events). Race-to-race data from Speedhive/MYLAPS official results
  • Series B – Alpha Timing race data, 3 rounds in 2025, 201 unique drivers, mixed engine platform
  • Series C – Alpha Timing race data, 3 rounds across 2024–2026, 171 unique drivers, Rotax engine platform

TKL matched Series A's overall return rate (46%) in its very first season — with only 3 rounds vs. Series A's 5. Both series see an identical 54% one-and-done rate, confirming this is simply the reality of regional karting. Where TKL stands out: 25% of drivers raced every single event, compared to 20% of Series A's base reaching 3+ events despite having more opportunities. A first-year series retaining its core as well as an established competitor is a strong signal.
